The Trombone is a member of the Brass Family. The sound is produced when a player's lips vibrate in its mouthpiece, causing the air inside the instrument to vibrate. The Trombone uses a slide which the player varies in length to change the notes. It can be found in a wide variety of settings, including Concert Bands, Orchestras, Marching Bands, and Brass Bands. It is commonly used in swing, jazz, salsa, ska, and R & B.
