Q. What is included in the tuition?
A. Your monthly tuition payment includes weekly lessons, two concert performances a year and enrollment in our Saturday Performing Ensemble class.
Q. How does Music Matters After School select instructors?
A. We have an extensive interview process and conduct background checks on all our employees. All of our instructors have degrees in music and are state certified to teach. All have experience in teaching group music classes. If you are interested in applying, visit our Careers page.
Q. How often are performances held? What is the date and time?
A. Performances are twice a year with exact dates and times to be determined shortly after classes begin. As soon as details are available, we will contact you with more information as well as update your school's class page.
Q. How can I pay?
A. We require an active major credit or debit card on file at all times. We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. After your initial online payment, monthly tuition is automatically debited on the first of each month.
Q. Do I receive a discount if I sign up more than one student?
A. Unfortunately, we do not offer family discounts.
Q. Are the rental instruments new?
A. All Music Matters After School instruments are in new or like new condition.
Q. We would like to cancel our enrollment. What is my first step?
A. Contact our Customer Service Specialists at 1-855-998-3110.
Q. How can I confirm my registration is complete?
A. Registration is not complete until your billing information is received by our office. Our pre-registration process enables you to reserve a spot in the class. We will contact you to complete the registration process.
Q. How often should my child practice?
A. Practicing at least 15 minutes a day is recommended when learning a new instrument. Students who practice longer build endurance and master new concepts at a quicker pace.
Q. What happens if my child misses a class?
A. Classes are pre-scheduled before the school year begins. Classes missed due to student absence are not rescheduled and make-ups are not provided. You may ask the teacher for assignments for any missed lessons.
If class is cancelled by Music Matters After School, we will reschedule the class or provide a credit towards tuition. However, classes cancelled by the school system are ineligible for rescheduling.
Q. Can I get a refund for missed classes?
A. The tuition for our program is a flat rate. We do not issue refunds or credits for missed classes.
Q. Will I have to pay for damage to my child's instrument?
A. Two annual instrument repairs are included in your monthly tuition payment. In the event your child's instrument is lost or deemed non-repairable by a Music Matters After School technician, you will be charged the replacement cost of the instrument. You are responsible for the cost of all repairs other than the first two. All repairs must be done by a company approved repair technician.
Q. Can my child switch to a different instrument after classes begin?
A. Students may only switch instruments with the music teacher's approval. If the teacher allows the exchange please contact our Customer Service Specialists at 1-855-998-3110.
Q. Can I pick up my instrument at a Music Matters location? What about at my class?
A. Music Matters After School ships and receives all instruments through our warehouse facility. The instrument ships directly to your home address. No pick up required!
Q. I need to return my instrument rental and/or accessories.
A. Please contact our Customer Service Specialists at 1-855-998-3110 to arrange the return of the instrument and/or accessories. Customer will need to pay for shipping costs. The instrument CANNOT be left at school or with the music teacher. Instruments lost as a result of not being returned properly are the full responsibility of the renter. Accessories may be returned only if within 30 days of original purchase and in
new, unopened condition.
