Music Matters After School was developed as a response to the ever important need for music education in early childhood development. Countless studies have proven the cognitive, psychological, and sociological effects that learning an instrument can have on young minds. For these reasons, many school systems have band and orchestra as a part of their regular curriculum.
As public school budgets steadily decrease, elementary band and orchestra is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. Our after school classes provide an alternative, not a replacement, to the programs that were once flourishing in elementary schools. By offering an after school ensemble class we are able to:
- Provide an environment where children are encouraged to not only learn proper technique and the language of music, but to learn to love it as well.
- Bolster and support the middle and upper school programs that are still intact by increasing awareness and interest at an early age.
- Provide a convenient extracurricular music education option for parents that previously could not afford the cost.
Music Matters core philosophy has always centered on kids having fun while learning to play music. We feel that if a child can learn to play a song but does not enjoy it, then we have not done our job. Music is our passion and we seek to share that passion and enthusiasm with everyone that is a part of our programs.

We love music. Our mission is to spread the love of music through our highly talented and passionate teachers to every child we teach. To achieve our goal, we offer music programs in communities where music education is not currently available. We exceed expectations in education and customer service through trust and personable relationships
